Learning goal

Recognizes eighth notes (ti-ti) and the quarter rest and plays rhythms that use them in time.

Topic

Some notes run (ti-ti), some notes rest (shh). Both are part of the music!

Prior knowledge

Teacher note

‘Ta’ is a quarter note, ‘ti-ti’ is two eighth notes and ‘shh’ is a rest. First say and clap the rhythm. Pressing a key during a rest counts as an extra hit.
