Learning goal

Puts given notes in order of pitch from low to high.

Topic

Low sounds are on the left of the keyboard, high sounds on the right. Let’s put the cards in the right order!

Prior knowledge

Teacher note

Write the cards on the board in a mixed order and let students guess first. Rule: the note further left on the keyboard is lower. With each correct note, a card moves into the answer row.

  2. Skipping notes: put them in order from low to high.
  3. Four notes! Start with the lowest one.
  4. Five notes: line them up from low to high.
