Learning goal
Accompanies a melody with chord root notes (C–F–G) in the left hand and listens to how the melody and chords fit together.
Topic
This time the left hand plays the chord’s ‘root’. The melody flies on top of it.
Prior knowledge
Left-hand bass with right-hand melody; the C, F and G chords.
Teacher note
Each bar’s chord fits the notes of the melody: bar 1 C, bar 2 F, bar 3 G, bar 4 C. First practice the left-hand root notes on their own while saying their names. This time the melody reaches up to A, so the right-hand fifth finger stretches a little.
