Left-hand bass, right-hand melody

Learning goal

Combines bass notes on the first beat in the left hand with a right-hand melody to play a simple two-hand song.

Prior knowledge

Can play with the hands in turn and together.

Teacher note

First practice the right-hand melody, then the left-hand bass notes separately. When the hands are put together, the left hand only plays with the right hand at the start of each bar. The last step is a performance in time; ‘Slow’ speed can be chosen.
